Echinacea aka 'Hedgehog'!

Known as one of the most popular herbs in America today, the Echinacea gets it's name from 'echinos'.   In Greek, the meaning 'hedgehog' is because it's spines (seedhead)  look like an angry critter!  Most commonly, the Echinacea is used today to shorten the length of the common cold.  This perennial is easy to care for, makes great cut flowers and attracts songbirds to the garden, what's not to love?
