Indeed, Bearded Iris!

The Bearded Iris lives up to it's name with a beard-like yellow cluster of hairs on it's petals!  This makes the beardless Iris look 'clean-shaven', by comparison. Iris' can be grown anywhere in the garden, but some of the species need a free-draining, sunny position.  The Iris is a welcome perennial to have around as they bloom between Spring and Summer; a welcome sight indeed, with or without a beard!
