'Blazing Star' aka Liatris!

Bright purple flowers on these tall spike perennials are wildly grown for floral bouquets.  Planting these tall beauties in your garden, along borders or even containers adds an interesting landscape. These thistle-like, fuzzy blossoms flower from the top down, whereas most other flowers bloom from the bottom to the top.  Liatris also blooms in rose and white varieties, a lovely combination if planted as a trio of colour.
